I really bought this utility knife for it’s sheepsfoot blade, as I think this blade shape is an excellent choice for a work environment utility knife that will be used to cut a lot of different materials and in a lot of different ways. The knife is a little on the ‘heavy side’ it has a weight to it. It’s one of those expected trade offs when looking at the price point of this knife. Can’t expect ‘fancy’ lightweight but durable materials for this price, although they are found readily available on higher priced knives these days. It’s a solid knife, durable and sharp. Blade runs on bronze washers, has no ‘play’ (wobble). Blade does not run as smooth as it could, it’s either because of the coating on the tang of the blade or visibly fairly rough cut rocker arm. It doesn’t interfere with usability or safety, merely a ‘cosmetic’/ finish issue. I like the blade thickness, it’s neither overly thick nor too thin – just the right thickness for most cutting tasks. Judging by the couple of times I’ve used it since my purchase it seems to hold an edge well/ within expectation. The handle provides a secure grip and the scales are finished nicely all around. Blade is neatly centered in handle when closed. Another fine example of how far manufacturing of these entry-level/ utility knives has come these days. Happy with the purchase, would recommend to anyone looking for a well made, sturdy, utility knife that doesn’t break the bank.
